Beaver Diarama

Taylor had a school assignment last week to do a Woodland Creature Diarama. In my fourteen and a half years of school I had never done a diarama. I don't even know if I am spelling it correctly. But we had such a great time doing this project and fun creating. I even got the BIGGEST HUG and the YOU ARE THE BEST MOMMY!!!

So anyway we did a diarama on the beaver - do you know how hard it is to find a beaver anything plastic-stuffed-stickers. Well let me tell you - there is not one to be found. So this is what we created - I think we did an AWESOME job. It was really a lot of fun. I pulled information from the web about beavers and we read them together and decided how to complete the one page report and then talked about where they lived and what they ate. These are the ideas that we used to design the diarama. She still has not gotten her grade on it yet - it was worth 100 points. She said that they read their reports to the class the other day.

Maybe we will get her grade at Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. Until later enjoy the pics.

Our Annual Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Every year we go to a pumpkin patch so that Taylor can pick out her pumpkin. This year we went to the Congress Street United Methodist Church - this is one of our favorite patches to visit. Not only do they have a great selection of pumpkins and it is always decorated so you can take pictures. But as Mike will tell you they have one of the best pumpkin rolls in town. Every year we always have a family picture taken - I guess that is what I look forward to the most. So here is our Annual Tharp Family Fall Picture (2008). So enjoy it now and if you get one in your Christmas card - sorry!

The picture in the profile is last year's picture from the Benton County Pumpkin Patch. How we change in a year!!!

Another Sleepless Night

Well I have been up and down all night. Been on the computer since about 1:30 am. I have been suffering from an upper respiratory infection since Monday and it is just not getting any better. Tomorrow is my last day of meds from the doc so I guess I am going to have to go back for another round. I can barely talk - but I guess depending on who you ask that is a blessing.

Meme had her hip replacement surgery yesterday - it was so hard not being there with her. But from all of the reports that I have gotten - she is in ICU recovering - please pray that the recovering and rehab goes well and that she has the strength to endure. Please also pray that we can get the up here before winter sets in and that they know we are doing this so that we can take care of them and because we love them. I don't think that Papa realizes that we are doing this for both of them and that it is not punishment for him. They are just so far away that it is hard for anyone to help and look after them.

Well Mike is up and getting ready for work - so I guess I should go try to fix him some lunch.

I pray that you all have a wonderful weekend and hopefully it is not another 4 or 5 months before I post again. Our love to all - Rendi

Boy How Time Flies.....

It seems like just yesterday I posted my first blog. It has been just absolutely crazy - but that is just life anymore I think. We leave on Monday morning for Disney. Taylor has no idea that we are going. She sees me packing and I told her that Mike and I are going away and she is going to stay with someone else. It is so nice to have such a laid back daughter. I figured that she would be asking 50 questions ike she usually does - but she hasn't. In the process of packing and getting ready for vaction, I downloaded by camera and so I have plenty of pictures to share with everyone. So I will get on with the pictures and update you on the vacation when we get back.

Getting Started....

Well I thought that I would try to keep everyone up-to-date on our family happenings. It seems that we just don't have enough time to keep in touch with everyone, so that is why I am starting our blog. I hope that you all enjoy the exciting and not so exciting happenings of our life. Trust me - they will mostly be not so exciting postings!!! Never have lead a very exciting life!!!

So until the next posting - stay safe, be happy, and my God bless you!! Hugs - Rendi
